| Arts Opera Classical Music Latin Jazz |
For all of you that are curious, here is my photo.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my life centers on the arts. I love opera. My daughter, Carmen Isabela, was named after an opera as well as the famous Queen of Spain. I love about classical music. Carmen's favorite composer is Mozart, mine is Chopin. But my latest musical discovery is Latin Jazz, particularly Brazilian Jazz. Boy is it hot! Keep some ice cubes handy because you'll need them!
Books | Architecture Biographies Coffee Table Computer Sewing I'm fascinated by Catherine the Great,
having recently purchased a 1920's biography of this Russian ruler.
My library is filled with computer books, architecture books, learn-a-new-language books, and
assorted coffee table picture books. Vintage sewing books are now joining
the frey, elbowing themselves onto the overloaded, but happy, book shelves.

Programming Internet IBM/AMEX
I am a self-confessed computer
nerd (eerrrr, I mean professional). As a PC programmer I've worked
on DOS, Windows, and OS/2 applications. I program in C/C++ mostly, with some
Visual Basic, Cobol, and other smatterings of language experience. For almost
10 years I contracted at IBM (in the Educational Software, OS/2, and Speech
Recognition areas). I am now a FTE (full time employee) at American Express,
about 5 minutes from my home. My favorite cartoon is The Dilbert's Zone.
It's uncanny. It's almost exactly how I feel when I go to work sometimes!

Jewelry |
Signed pieces Ornate Rhinestone
I love vintage jewelery!
In my collection are pieces from almost every decade of the last
century. Pieces that I'm particularly fond of include those that
were purchased by my father at garage sales. These are the
most fun, with lots of rhinestones. It's always fun to
buy pieces on Ebay as well,
but as you all know - it's extremely addicting!

Medieval Age |
Castles Knights & Ladies As a child, the stories of
King Arthur were some of my most loved. What young women wouldn't want
to be a medieval lady, with flowing gown and hair, waiting for her
medieval knight in shining armor? I once met a date at the local antique
district, to look around. After seeing my tastes, he told me that I didn't
need a house, I needed a CASTLE! Ok, where's the computer hookup ...

Sewing |
Antique Buttons Fashion Design Lace Fabrics Vintage Patterns While pregnant with Carmen,
it was suggested that I learn how to mend clothes and sew curtains
for my house. Supposedly, I would have all kinds of time on my hands
when the baby was born. Wrong! But I did learn how to sew a bit, started my
Sewing Resource Guide,
and actually made a few things. Then I learned about
antique buttons
and vintage patterns. I'm hooked! Add to that my love of vintage
lace and fashion and that's it, no hope of recovery.

Sports |
Pool Racquetball and yee gads, Golf! I'm getting younger and thinner.
Ok, just thinner. I love indoor racquetball. It's a great
way to exercise, and fun to compete in leagues. I also enjoy more upscale
games, like golf. I used to think that golf was for old men in ugly
plaid pants. As a matter of fact, I once dated a guy who loved golf and
I absolutely REFUSED to touch a golf club. But I finally tried it and
discovered that I LOVE THIS GAME! Way cool, you hit this little bitty ball,
and it goes in this little bitty hole, and I'm actually pretty good at it!
What a wild discovery, and of course it doesn't hurt to live in South
Florida when you love to play golf ...

Travel |
Europe Latin America United States
As a citizen of the world, my goal in life is to see as much
of it as I can. I enjoy learning different languages and am
fluent in English and
Serbo-Croatian.
I speak some French and Spanish, a tiny bit of Greek, and can understand
quite a bit of Russian. I've traveled through half of the United States,
much of Europe, and now parts of Latin America - including Panama, Guatemala,
and Venezuela. If I ever win the Florida Lottery, much of it would go to travel!

Victorian Period |
Clothing Jewelry Furniture Home decor Greeting Cards Calling Cards
Just park me in a real Victorian house, complete with the proper
furniture and trimmings, give me a few nice calling cards and any other
necessary social paraphanialia, and I would be in absolute heaven!
Well, we don't have many Victorian houses in Florida.
Oh well, I can dream can't I?.
